Statewide Research and Evaluation for a Community College Network

Challenge

A statewide program serving students across California's community colleges needed research, evaluation, and data systems to show impact and guide decisions.

What I Did

  • Built and lead a statewide research and evaluation function
  • Designed mixed-methods studies, surveys, and focus groups
  • Developed data systems and dashboards for ongoing learning

Result

Ongoing evidence on student outcomes that informs programming, reporting, and funder conversations.

Board Governance · Leadership Transition

Community Land Trust Governance — Growing a Young Nonprofit

Challenge

The Sacramento Community Land Trust needed to grow from a volunteer-led board into an organization with staff, reserves, and capacity to deliver.

What I Did

  • Served as Board Chair
  • Led the search and hiring of the organization's founding Executive Director
  • Guided budget planning and reserve growth

Result

A larger operating budget, stronger reserves, and a founding Executive Director in place — transforming a volunteer-led board into a capable, staffed organization.

Regional College-Guidance Rollout — 27 Schools, 80%+ Educator Adoption

Challenge

Schools across Greater Sacramento needed to adopt the California College Guidance Initiative's statewide college and career planning platform — and new tools often go unused.

What I Did

  • Led implementation across 27 schools
  • Trained and supported counselors and educators on day-to-day use
  • Tracked adoption and used the data to target follow-up support

Result

More than 80% of educators adopted the platform, putting college and career planning data in front of the people advising students.
